RECOGNITION OF TYRE DAMAGE
Did you know that aircraft tyres are typically repaired three times in their lifetime? Neovision learned this while working with Michelin on an image recognition system that identifies the type of damage on an aircraft tyre. Using his smartphone, the operator takes a picture of the damage, and our technology characterises it. The operator can then save the photo to keep a record and improve traceability. But he also has access to the procedure to follow, specific to this damage.
ANALYSIS OF MICROSCOPIC SLIDES
Image recognition in the health sector is making spectacular progress. These advances are all the more marked in the field of medical imaging. Our image recognition technology has many applications, particularly in the field of diagnostic assistance. Our technology – capable of processing all types of images, from X-rays to photographs – can assist healthcare professionals and ensure time savings and greater reliability.
RECOGNITION OF WINE BOTTLES
Integrated in the Wine Advisor mobile application, our image recognition technology allows to identify a bottle of wine. How? Nothing could be simpler; all you have to do is take a photo of its label. In less than a second, our technology analyses the image and finds your bottle among 1,000,000 references. In addition to the identification of the bottle, you also have all the information concerning the appellation or the tasting of the wine.
RECOGNITION OF WORKS OF ART
For the 2020 edition of the Grenoble Alpes Street Art Festival, Neovision developed an application to facilitate the discovery of the various works of art. By focusing on the UX, we realised that our image recognition technology was particularly well suited. Indeed, it is not uncommon to come across a mural, by chance, at the corner of a street. In no time at all, you photograph the work, and you know everything there is to know: artist, messages, technique, making-off…
RECOGNITION OF FLOWER SPECIES
What could be more frustrating than watching our chlorophyll friend slowly but surely wither away? Did I give it the right fertiliser? Did I dose it correctly? Is my plant getting too much sun? Not enough water? All these questions can be answered, more or less accurately, after a good deal of research. But with our image recognition technology, it is possible to identify a flower species by taking a picture of it! No more pestering your green thumb friends or scouring through a thousand and one forums.
RECOGNITION OF TEXTILE PATTERNS
Fast fashion is a destructive phenomenon for our environment and for small textile designers. Once their creations are presented, it only takes a few weeks for the textile industry to copy them and produce counterfeits. Faced with this terrible situation, Neovision used image recognition to analyse the images of certain dubious commercial sites. With these images, and by comparing them with the registered and protected designs of the designers, it is possible to detect and recognise counterfeits, automatically.
RECOGNITION OF CIRCUIT BREAKERS
Image recognition is also of interest to professionals, such as Schneider Electric. Neovision has developed an application – incorporating our image recognition technology – that allows circuit breakers to be detected and identified in real time on a video stream. Once the circuit breaker is detected in 3D space thanks to image recognition, our OCR technology takes over to read its reference and identify it. A good way to inventory your machinery!
CLASSIFICATION OF PLASTIC WASTE
Environmental protection is a subject close to our hearts. We were delighted to work on a project to optimise the sorting of plastic waste. Our image recognition technology is able to classify different PET packaging. For example, it can differentiate between food and non-food packaging. So, you are less likely to see a bleach bottle recycled as a water bottle. And that’s reassuring!
